DIY Supplies List
There is no wrong way to use your oils (aside from just not using them!), especially since oils integrate into every area of our lives - rollers, rooms sprays, DIYs, supplements, candle replacements and SO MUCH MORE.
From roller bottles to carriers to anything you want to DIY, here are the supplies you need to use your oils to the fullest.
Carrier Oils
Carrier oils are used to dilute essential oils for either topical use or internal use. When using oils internally, make sure to use ingestible oils, such as high quality olive oil or coconut oil.
- V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex - a blended carrier oil from Young Living for any topical use (note - contains wheat germ oil and sweet almond oil)
- Organic cold-pressed olive oil - can be used for internal or topical application
- Fractionated coconut oil - liquid at room temperature and will not solidify, often used for roller blends
- Organic unrefined coconut oil - often used for salves, creams, body butters, topical dilution
- Jojoba oil - liquid at room temperature, used in roller blends, facial serums, a good overall carrier oil
- Argan oil - liquid carrier, good for skincare
- Castor oil - often used for eyelash serums, adrenal serums
- Vitamin E oil - often added to skincare DIYs
Glass Bottles and Rollers
When using essential oils for DIY, we want to make sure to use glass spray, dropper or roller bottles. Here are some of our favorites.
- 2 oz glass spray bottles - for room sprays, etc
- 16 oz glass spray bottles - for Thieves Household Cleaner dilutions
- 2 oz, 4 oz, & 16 oz spray bottles - great to get you started
- Bamboo spray tops - to add to empty 15 ml YL bottles
- 2 mL glass roller bottles - great for sharing oils and blends on the go
- 10 mL amber roller bottles - make your own roller blends
- 10 mL Cube shaped rollers - these are lovely for perfume blends
- 10 mL bamboo top roller bottles - add some flare to your roller blends
- Spray bottles and Roller bottles - perfect set to get you started and for DIY events
- 30 mL oral spray bottles - for throat sprays and oral sprays
- 10 mL perfume spray bottles - fits well in your purse for on the go sprays
- 2 oz glass dropper bottles - great for serums, beard oils and pre-made diffuser blends
- 30 mL bamboo top dropper bottles - to add some style to your DIY gifts
- 30 oz glass jars - for bath salts, scrubs, & body butters
- 8 oz glass pump bottles - to add your favorite scents to lotions and hand soaps
Other Commonly Used Supplies
Whether your'e mixing up some body butter or making your own candles, here are the supplies we've used and love:
- Clear vegetable capsules
- Alcohol-free witch hazel
- Dried lavender flowers
- Dried rose buds
- Magnesium bath flakes
- Epsom salts
- Organic raw shea butter
- Refined shea butter - has less scent than raw shea butter
- Raw cocoa butter
- Aloe vera gel
- White beeswax pellets
- Yellow beeswax pellets
- Bentonite Clay
- Corn starch
- Wool dryer balls
Printing Supplies
This website has many fun roller bottle, diffuser, and room spray recipes. Use yardstick or sticker paper to easily keep track of the blend you create.
