The oils in this collection are wonderful for everyday use to support the body from different directions!

  • Melrose - Melrose is a combination of four oils: Melaleuca Alternifolia, Melaleuca Quinquenervia, Rosemary, and Clove, making it a wonderful cleansing blend for body and mind! This is one oil we reach for when the crud hits, when we have skin needs, when our airways need some support, and even for cleaning! Use Melrose as you would Tea Tree, and enjoy its rich, herbaceous scent diffused with Thieves, Lavender, or Orange.
  • Raven - Raven is the oil blend to reach for when you want to breathe deeply! Raven is a crisp, airway opening blend containing Ravintsara (commonly known as camphor), Eucalyptus Radiata, Lemon, Peppermint, and Wintergreen. This oil is wonderful for respiratory and immune support! Diffuse it, add it to epsom salts when your defenses are going down, make a simple chest rub with Raven and coconut oil, or place a few drops on your shower floor every morning.
  • R.C. -  This gentle eucalyptus blend is formulated for the whole family and is our favorite for happy noses. R.C. stands for “respiratory comfort,” and it gives comfort to your respiratory system indeed! R.C. combines Cypress, Spruce, and three types of Eucalyptus oils (E. citriodora, E. globulus, and E. radiata) for a respiratory blend that is more herbaceous than Raven.
  • DiGize Vitality - DiGize is your BFF for a happy digestive system. So much of our health is linked to a diverse, well balanced gut, but immune health is especially dependent on a healthy belly. DiGize is our go to for all things digestion! This blend of Tarragon, Ginger, Peppermint, Juniper, Fennel, Lemongrass, Anise, and Patchouli is so soothing. Roll it over your abdomen whenever digestive discomfort hits, add it to an empty capsule with olive oil and take daily to support a healthy belly, add it to a large glass of water – however you use DiGize, this oil will make a believer out of even the most skeptical!
  • Endoflex Vitality - EndoFlex is your daily dose of happy hormone support! This supports the entire endocrine system – from your thyroid to the adrenals to estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. EndoFlex Spearmint, Sage, Geranium, Myrtle, German Chamomile, and Nutmeg in a sesame seed oil base. These oils specifically support the adrenal system, thyroid, and overall endocrine health. Apply this oil over the front of the throat (thyroid) and lower back (adrenals), diffuse it, even use it along the spine for big emotions and to support tweens and teens as they grow!
  • JuvaFlex Vitality - JuvaFlex is daily support for a happy, healthy liver. The liver is the filtering organ of the body, so it is constantly processing everything we are exposed to on a daily basis. JuvaFlex combines Blue Tansy, Fennel, Geranium, Helichrysum, Roman Chamomile, and Rosemary essential oils – each of which helps the body process and eliminate toxins, cleansing the system and supporting overall health and vitality. The liver is also where anger is stored in the body, so supporting it well and practicing emotional release can have amazing health benefits. If you're needing support for a specific issue and don't know what else to do, try liver support and cleansing! It can be such a huge part of health.
  • Thieves Vitality - Thieves is the original oil when it comes to all things immune! Thieves is our germ-fighting best friend. This is a legendary blend of purifying essential oils - Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus radiata, and Rosemary - that are well known for immune support and cleansing properties. Diffuse it, apply it, ingest it in some hot tea – just get the oil in and around you every day!
Daily Habits with the Golden Touch 1 Collection

Apply Raven topically to enjoy the cooling sensation of Wintergreen and Peppermint essential oils after a long day or tough workout.

Drop Raven onto your shower floor and let the oil and the steam open your airways.

Make a steam pot with hot water and a few drops of Raven. Place a towel over your head and breathe deeply to open the airways.

Whip up a DIY Chest Rub:
  • ½ cup solid coconut oil
  • 10-20 drops Raven or R.C.
  • 10 drops Melrose
  • Optional: 10 drops Thieves Vitality
Diffuse R.C. and breathe in the clarifying aroma on stuffy indoor days, after school, while sleeping, or while showering.

Add 3–5 drops of Melrose to your daily moisturizer to reduce the appearance of weather-worn skin.

Dilute and apply Melrose to skin that needs some TLC.

Make a Pavement Spray to use before applying a bandage:
  • 2 oz spray bottle
  • 20 drops Melrose
  • Fractionated coconut oil or other liquid carrier oil
Get a boost of immune support during the cold season by taking a few drops of Thieves Vitality in the morning and evening. Add a drop to a mug of hot tea, place Thieves Vitality in an empty capsule with olive oil, or drop it under your tongue as desired.

Support your body's natural flow of energy with help from EndoFlex Vitality. Place a couple drops in an empty capsule and take daily.

Apply EndoFlex over the throat and lower back morning and evening.

Young Living's proprietary Raindrop Technique bodywork combines powerful essential oils with multiple modalities of healing. Raindrop includes unique, targeted massage and energy approaches with pure essential oils for a deeply harmonizing, rejuvenating, and relaxing experience that supports overall health. The Raindrop method is a revolutionary means of nurturing harmony within the body—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Background

The Raindrop Technique was developed by Young Living Founder D. Gary Young in 1989 as a unique practice based on methods that have been used for centuries to rejuvenate the body and mind. Inspired by the Lakota Native American tradition of observing the northern lights while inhaling the affirming aroma of nearby conifer trees, the Raindrop Technique helps bring balance and harmony to the body by combining targeted massage and essential oils with specific health properties. These oils are well known for their ability to support the body's natural response to inflammation and pathogens, to soothe the respiratory system, support immunity and ease muscle tension.

Raindrop Massage

During a Raindrop massage, the oils are dispensed onto the back like drops of rain, from about 6 inches above. As they are dropped onto the skin along the spine, the oils are lightly feathered up along the vertebrae and out along the muscles from the base of the spine to the neck. Because of the large amount of nerve endings along the spine, the oils continue to work for several days after application.

Start by applying Valor to the soles of the feet and massaging in gently. Then, apply the oils individually, starting at the base of the spine and feathering each one upward and outward before applying the next one. Apply 3-5 drops of each oil in this order: Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Cypress, Wintergreen, Marjoram, Aroma Siez, Peppermint, and Valor.

Key Constituents
*Constituents are naturally occurring compounds in plants (and therefore essential oils) that give them specific health-supporting propertiesSome studies on the constituents in these oils have suggested the following:

  • Carvacrol - this constituent provides incredible benefits including immune health (overall and digestive), antioxidants, and may support the body's ability to heal.
  • Thymol - contains cleansing properties, antioxidants and supports the body during times of inflammation.
  • Alpha-pinene - a powerful antioxidant, some studies have shown alpha-pinene to support the body through inflammation and to help calm the mind
  • Limonene - known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-stress support, this is a powerful constituent with many health benefits
Raindrop & Emotions

Because our bodies are intricately designed, we cannot separate the physical from the emotional, and Raindrop can be a powerful emotional tool as well! When we begin to fall below the wellness line it affects us physically, yes, but also spiritually, emotionally, mentally – which means that supporting our physical bodies also helps support our emotions.

Whether it is muscular, from an immune system need or something else, physical pain and stress on the body also affects the emotions. Massage can be a wonderful tool for relieving this, and adding in the powerful properties of the Raindrop oils takes the healing even further!

Daily Habits with Raindrop Oils

The Raindrop oils are incredible health tools for everyone in the family! For younger children (under 6), remember to dilute more and leave out Wintergreen. You can add Lavender to the mix as well! 
Make the Raindrop Massage Technique a part of your health routine! Some choose to have a spouse or partner massage these oils onto their spine weekly, every few days, or even every day.

Make a Raindrop Roller to use daily or use acutely when defenses need to be reinforced. If using acutely, use multiple times an hour for the first hour, then use at least every hour.
  • 10 mL roller bottle
  • 10-15 drops each Oregano, Basil, Thyme, Marjoram, Cypress, Wintergreen, Peppermint, Aroma Siez, Lavender or Valor
  • Optional: 2-3 pumps OrthoEase Massage oil
  • Fill with carrier of choice
A Raindrop Detox Bath is a great practice when defenses start to go down or whenever you need a boost.
  • 1 cup magnesium flakes 
  • 3 drops each Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Marjoram, Cypress, & Lavender
  • 2 drops Peppermint, Wintergreen, & Aroma Siez
    Add oils and magnesium together in a glass jar and mix. Place the jar under hot, running water to diffuse out into bath water. Soak as long as possible!
    If you prefer a shower, mix the oils and magnesium flakes together, then pour onto the shower floor just outside the main flow of water.
Use this Raindrop Oral Spray as needed
  • 10 mL glass spray bottle 
  • 1 drop each Oregano Vitality, Thyme Vitality, & Peppermint Vitality
  • 2 drops each Lemon Vitality & Orange Vitality  
  • Splash Olive Oil
  • Filtered Water
    Add all ingredients into a spray bottle and shake well. Spritz into your mouth daily or as desired! Note: this one may tingle a bit! 
Diffuse

You can diffuse this blend of oils as well! We recommend making a pre-made blend, then using a dropper bottle to add 8-12 drops to your diffuser.

Raindrop Diffuser Blend - 10 drops each Oregano, Basil, Thyme, Marjoram, Cypress, Wintergreen, Peppermint, Aroma Siez & 20 drops Lavender. To use: mix all together in a dropper bottle, and swirl to mix. Add 8-12 drops to your diffuser with water and diffuse!

  • Herb Garden - 2 drops each Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Peppermint & 4 drops Lavender
  • Immune Boost - 3 drops each Oregano, Lemon, Thyme, & Lavender
  • Soothe It - 3 drops each Cypress, Peppermint, Lemon, & Marjoram

Daily Habits with the Simplified Winter Collection

Use in your home and cleaning routine!

Whip up a simple room or linen spray:
  • 2 oz glass spray bottle
  • 20 drops oil of choice
  • Splash of witch hazel
  • Filtered water
Make a lovely DIY Reed Diffuser:
  • Glass bottle of choice (check thrift stores for lovely vintage ones!)
  • Bamboo skewers or uncoated chopsticks
  • 1/4 cup carrier oil of choice
  • 1 teaspoon rubbing alcohol
  • 40-60 drops oil of choice
Add 30 drops to your Thieves Cleaner for a fun twist.

Add 3-5 drops to dryer balls to infuse your laundry with a little winter love.

Place a few drops onto a cloth or cotton ball and place in the bottom of a trash can, a drawer, a closet or any other small space that needs to be refreshed.

Add to your DIY Laundry Scent Booster. To a glass jar with a lid add:
  • 1 cup epsom salt
  • ½ cup fine sea salt
  • ½ cup baking soda
  • 30 drops oil of choice
    To use, add 2-3 Tbsp directly to the laundry.
Make this carpet deodorizing powder. To a 4 oz glass jar add:
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ½ cup fine sea salt
  • 20 drops oil of choice
    Add baking soda and salt to a jar, and mix well. Add essential oils, stir, then place the top on the jar and shake well.
    Optional: use a small knife or drill to make small holes in the top of the jar. Sprinkle onto carpets and let sit 10-15 minutes before vacuuming!
Put a few drops of oil in a USB car diffuser to cheer up your morning commute with the warming scents of winter.

Use in this Relaxing Bath Salts Recipe:
  • 1 cup epsom salts
  • ½ cup pink Himalayan salt
  • 30 drops oil of choice
Use as a simple chest rub with coconut oil. Apply over the chest, neck and back before bedtime.

Use in this DIY Shimmer Scrub:
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons finely ground coffee
  • 1 teaspoon silver cosmetic mica or gold cosmetic mica
  • 2 tablespoons jojoba or olive oil
  • 5 drops Candy Cane
    Add sugars, coffee and mica/eyeshadow to a small bowl and combine. Mix in jojoba oil and essential oils and store in a glass jar.
    When you're in the shower, scrub dry skin gently, then rinse. You'll be left with radiant skin and a soft, barely there sparkle!

A Few Notes on Fragrance...

If you turn over your favorite good smelling products, you'll often find the word ‘fragrance' in the ingredients. But what is fragrance??

Fragrance chemicals are organic compounds that volatilize, or vaporize into the air, which is why we can smell them. They are added to household and personal care products to give them a scent or to mask the odor of other ingredients. Unfortunately, the volatile organic chemicals (VOCs - think the smell of paint or paint thinner) emitted by fragrance products can contribute to poor indoor air quality and are associated with a variety of adverse health effects. They are pretty much the last thing you want in a product for ambiance and aroma.

But it gets a little bit worse…. Did you know that to protect trade secrets, makers are allowed to withhold fragrance ingredients, so consumers can't rely on labels to know what hazards may lurk inside those festive scented candles (and room sprays.. and wall plugs… and perfumes.. and cosmetics…). This is called the “fragrance loophole” in federal labeling law. Although all other ingredients in your scented household and personal care products must be disclosed on the label by their specific name, this loophole means that ingredients added to provide a pleasant scent, or to mask a bad one, need only be listed under the generic term “fragrance.” 

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) reports that, while many popular candles and room sprays contain trace amounts of natural essences, they also typically contain a dozen or more potentially hazardous synthetic chemicals, some of which are derived from petroleum. According to the EWG, 

“Exposure to fragrance chemicals can cause headaches; eye, nose, and throat irritation; nausea; forgetfulness; loss of coordination; and other respiratory and/or neurotoxic symptoms. Many fragrance ingredients are respiratory irritants and sensitizers, which can trigger asthma attacks and aggravate sinus conditions.” 

One example of a harmful ingredient (there are many!) when it comes to fragrance, is styrene, an ingredient added to a wide variety of consumer products. A 2011 finding by the National Toxicology Program (endorsed by the Academy's National Research Council) found that styrene is “reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.”

We know only that styrene might be an ingredient in any given fragrance because the International Fragrance Association, an industry trade group, publishes an online “Transparency List” of ingredients that perfumers say they use in formulas for consumer products. Styrene is one of the 3,000-odd ingredients on the list.

When you add up the number of products in your bathroom cabinets and under your kitchen sink that contain “fragrance” – and may contain styrene – the total could be many exposures to a substance we now know is “reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.”

THIS is why we are so passionate about ditching conventional products and switching to Young Living's clean, effective and safe options! Add 20-25 drops of one of the blends to your Thieves Cleaner for a summery twist.

Add 3-5 drops of your chosen blend to dryer balls to infuse your laundry with a little sunshine.

Add one of these summery blends to your DIY Laundry Scent BoosterMake this carpet deodorizing powder. To a 4 oz glass jar add:
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ½ cup fine sea salt
  • 20 drops blend of choice
    Add baking soda and salt to a jar, and mix well. Add essential oils, stir, then place the top on the jar and shake well. Optional: use a small knife or drill to make small holes in the top of the jar. Sprinkle onto carpets and let sit 10-15 minutes before vacuuming! 
Add a few drops of Tropical Tango in your diffuser to fill your space with the island-inspired scents of exotic flowers, creamy coconuts, and juicy fruits.

Put a few drops of Orange Creamsicle in a USB car diffuser to cheer up your morning commute with the nostalgic scents of summer.

For personal care…

Dilute your favorite Summer Simplified essential oil blend with a carrier oil and add it to your evening shower gel, body oil, or DIY bath bomb recipes for a burst of sunshine.

Use your favorite blend to make some of the simple DIYs. (Summer shimmer body oil anyone?!?)

Use one of these blends in DIY sugar and salt scrubs for a fresh summery burst.

Put 1 drop of Tropical Tango diluted with 2–4 drops of V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex into the palm of your hand; then cup your hands around your nose and breathe deeply to transport yourself to an island paradise.

Breathe in Orange Creamsicle's uplifting aroma straight from the bottle for an aromatic pick-me-up when your day overwhelms you.

Place a couple drops of Seaside and V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex onto a diffuser bracelet to carry the fresh, soothing scent wherever your day takes you. Since this blend may cause photosensitivity, keep your wrist out of direct sunlight for up to 24 hours.

A Few Notes on Fragrance...

If you turn over your favorite good smelling products, you'll often find the word ‘fragrance' in the ingredients. But what is fragrance??

Fragrance chemicals are organic compounds that volatilize, or vaporize into the air, which is why we can smell them. They are added to household and personal care products to give them a scent or to mask the odor of other ingredients. Unfortunately, the volatile organic chemicals (VOCs - think the smell of paint or paint thinner) emitted by fragrance products can contribute to poor indoor air quality and are associated with a variety of adverse health effects. They are pretty much the last thing you want in a product for ambiance and aroma.

But it gets a little bit worse…. Did you know that to protect trade secrets, makers are allowed to withhold fragrance ingredients, so consumers can't rely on labels to know what hazards may lurk inside those festive scented candles (and room sprays.. and wall plugs… and perfumes.. and cosmetics…). This is called the “fragrance loophole” in federal labeling law. Although all other ingredients in your scented household and personal care products must be disclosed on the label by their specific name, this loophole means that ingredients added to provide a pleasant scent, or to mask a bad one, need only be listed under the generic term “fragrance.” 

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) reports that, while many popular candles and room sprays contain trace amounts of natural essences, they also typically contain a dozen or more potentially hazardous synthetic chemicals, some of which are derived from petroleum. According to the EWG, 

“Exposure to fragrance chemicals can cause headaches; eye, nose, and throat irritation; nausea; forgetfulness; loss of coordination; and other respiratory and/or neurotoxic symptoms. Many fragrance ingredients are respiratory irritants and sensitizers, which can trigger asthma attacks and aggravate sinus conditions.” 

One example of a harmful ingredient (there are many!) when it comes to fragrance, is styrene, an ingredient added to a wide variety of consumer products. A 2011 finding by the National Toxicology Program (endorsed by the Academy's National Research Council) found that styrene is “reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.”

We know only that styrene might be an ingredient in any given fragrance because the International Fragrance Association, an industry trade group, publishes an online “Transparency List” of ingredients that perfumers say they use in formulas for consumer products. Styrene is one of the 3,000-odd ingredients on the list.

When you add up the number of products in your bathroom cabinets and under your kitchen sink that contain “fragrance” – and may contain styrene – the total could be many exposures to a substance we now know is “reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.”

THIS is why we are so passionate about ditching conventional products and switching to Young Living's clean, effective and safe options! Young Living NEVER uses fragrance in their products - they don't even need to because of the incredible essential oils. Here are some of our favorite recipes, DIYs, and ways to use the oils in this kit! These oils were hand selected because they are some of the most versatile.

Make a Glow Up Skin Serum to use before bed:
  • 20 drops Lavender
  • Fill with carrier of choice (jojoba oil, argan oil)
  • Optional: 15 drops Frankincense for oil-prone skin
  • Other great add-ins: Manuka, Blue Tansy, Myrrh
Make a T-Zone Roller to use on oily areas or as a spot-treatment for blemishes:
  • 20 drops Purification
  • Jojoba oil
Make a Daily Wellness Roller (10mL) to use morning and evening, then use more frequently when needs arise: 
  • 30 drops each Thieves,
  • 10 drops each Lavender, Peppermint
  • V-6 Vegetable oil carrier
  • Other great add-ins: Geranium, Pine, Frankincense
Try this Tension Melter Roller for tense heads, shoulders, necks or other muscles. (This one feels soooo good on the temples and forehead when you're carrying stress or tension!)
  • 25 drops each Lavender,

Make Ultimate Relaxation Bath Salts:
  • 1 cup Epsom salt
  • ½ cup Himalayan salt
  • 10 drops Lavender
  • Optional: 8 drops Stress Away (pop the roller out and use a dropper to get the essential oil out!)
Make a DIY Carpet & Rug Freshener to freshen up your space whenever you vacuum.
  • To an airtight glass jar add:
  • 1 cup Baking Soda
  • ½ cup Fine Sea Salt
  • 20 drops Purification
  • 20 drops Lavender
  • Mix well. When ready to use, sprinkle over carpets and let sit for 10 minutes before vacuuming.
Make a Linen & Upholstery Spray to use when you change the sheets or anytime a surface needs a little freshening:
  • 8 oz glass spray bottle   
  • 20 drops each Peppermint, Lavender, Purification
  • Filtered water
  • Shake to mix and spray on linens, upholstery, mattresses, anything really!
Make a DIY Laundry Scent Booster to make your laundry smell divine with zero harsh chemicals:
  • To a large glass jar with a lid add:

Whip up a Thieves Household Cleaner for general cleaning - counters, bathrooms, everywhere!

To the 16 oz glass spray bottle add 1-2 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner. Option to add 10-15 drops each Lemon and Thieves essential oils. Fill with filtered water.

Pretreat stains with Thieves Dish Soap! Simply drop onto stains, use a wooden laundry brush to rub in, then wash in Thieves Laundry Soap. Make a stain stick!
  • 30mL roller bottle
  • Fill halfway with Thieves Household Cleaner
  • Add 1 Tbsp hydrogen peroxide and 10 drops Lemon essential oil
  • Fill the remainder with Thieves Dish Soap
  • Shake well and roll onto stains, then brush with a wooden laundry brush

All Things Emotions

Emotions are a part of our everyday lives. They are unavoidable! But sometimes it can feel like our emotions are running our lives. Sometimes they become bigger than what we can handle, and that is when we are so grateful to have tools at our disposal to help us process these emotions!

Favorite Oils for Emotions
There is no shortage of oils that can help us with our emotions, but here are some of our favorites:
When it comes to processing our emotions, it is important to support the physical body as well. That's a whole separate topic, but a few simple ways to do that would be drinking NingXia Red daily, using EndoFlex as a dietary supplement or rolling it over the thyroid and adrenals multiple times a day, and taking a nutrient-dense multivitamin like Master Formula.

Essential Oils & Emotions

Our brains have specific areas where we process emotion. The system of the brain responsible for memory and mood is the limbic system. It includes the hippocampus, the hypothalamus, and the amygdala.
When we look at the structure of the brain, we see that the amygdala (a tiny, almond-shaped structure) is key when it comes to emotion and fear. The hippocampus is where new nerve cells are created. And it is physically beside the structure responsible for emotions. And is connected to the nose via a cranial nerve.
That may sound a bit like science jargon, but let's read that again.

The part of the brain where new nerve cells are created is connected to the part that processes emotions and is also connected to our sense of smell.

That is powerful. That is how we can process trauma. That is how we rewire our brains. That is how we move forward in peace.

Emotions & The Nervous System

Our emotions are closely linked to our physical bodies. If you've ever felt your stomach churn from anxiety or your heart beat faster with worry or fear, then you know that this is true.  This is because of the Central Nervous System. Quick (and we mean quick!!) science lesson….

The Central Nervous System has two branches - the autonomic nervous system and the sympathetic nervous system. The Autonomic Nervous System controls involuntary body responses, such as blood flow and digestion. The Sympathetic Nervous System is charged with controlling the body's fight-or-flight reactions. BOTH of these systems are affected by and involved in our emotional responses.

For now, let's focus on the Sympathetic Nervous System, our fight-or-flight response. We will be in one of three places within our Sympathetic Nervous System:Ventral aka the right amount of energy. We feel calm, grounded, able to give and receive connection with others.Sympathetic aka too much energy. We are hyperactive, frustrated, angry, yelling, anxious, panicking and defensive.Dorsal aka drained or zero energy. We are shut down, closed off, depressed, zoned out, numbed, hopeless and sluggish.

Think about each of these three states. What does it look like for you to be in Ventral? What does it feel like emotionally? Physically? What about Sympathetic? Dorsal? Write these things down. This will help you identify the state of your Sympathetic Nervous System and your triggers for activation.

Our goal is to spend as much time as possible in Ventral energy, but past trauma and pain can hijack the system and send us down the spiral into an activated Sympathetic state or further down into a numbed or depressed Dorsal state.

This is why it is so important for us to identify trauma and process and heal the past, so that we can rewire those responses and spend our time in a calm state with the right amount of energy. This is also the energetic state where we can grow, connect and thrive!

And you guessed it. One of our best tools for rewiring this system? Essential oils.

Using Oils for Emotions

We know that our sense of smell is directly related to our emotions and mood. This is why a scent can trigger a memory or even a feeling. Vanilla reminds you of baking cookies with your best friend. Lavender reminds you of your grandmother.

This is why aromatherapy is so effective when it comes to processing emotions and dealing with needs such as anxious thoughts, stress and even low mood.

Essential oils are also great for emotions because they contain constituents that can cross the blood brain barrier to help reprogram bad coding as a result of trauma. Then other compounds rewrite that code to restore the original perfect copy, one that will not keep us pulled into the physical and emotional effects of stress. This is a process, but the great thing about essential oils is that we have a CHOICE to embrace that process instead of loading our bodies up with toxins, chemicals, and other things that create more confusion in the cells.

What does this look like practically? Glad you asked…
Grab an oil and isolate what emotion you are feeling. Think about the opposite of that emotion and deeply inhale and apply the oil as you sit quietly. After a time, practice rewiring that pathway with a truth or affirmation. Do this daily as you process through a specific event or emotion. Here are a few examples from one of our favorite reference books, Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils: 
  • Emotion - Anxiety // Other Side - Confidence // Way Out - “Peace, be still.”
  • Emotion - Disappointment // Other Side - Freedom // Way Out - “I trust my vision.”
  • Emotion - Grief // Other Side - Happy // Way Out - “Change brings growth.”
  • Emotion - Judgment // Other Side - Regard // Way Out - “I am discerning.”
Process emotions through movement. This can be walking, yoga, swimming, cycling, etc. just as long as the movement physically moves your body through space.

Grab your oils and apply or diffuse them as you move, breathing in the oil as you mentally and physically process. 

For some individuals those steps also include therapy or counseling. There is a lot of value in a third party listening and giving insight into your experiences, and there is no shame in that!
Use your oils daily, frequently and consistently to help you find balance and harmony!

Diffuser Blend for Emotions

Diffusing is a wonderful way to get oils in and around multiple people at a time! We also love diffusing while we sleep and shower to help our subconscious minds process emotions.

  • Weighted Blanket - 4 drops each Joy, Tangerine, White Angelica
  • Peaceful Feelings - 4 drops each Inner Child, Sacred Frankincense, Sacred Sandalwood
  • Deep Exhale - 4 drops each Release, Lime, Lavender
  • Daily Zen - 4 drops each Valor, Grapefruit, Bergamot

Roller Recipes for Emotions

Make a roller with any of the oils listed above, whatever you have on hand or any that calls out to you specifically! You truly cannot go wrong. You can use these recipes as a guide or any of the recipes linked below and substitute whatever oils you desire. Apply the roller over your heart, wrists, neck and chest and breathe deeply. Use liberally and frequently! 

  • Happy Heart Roller Blend - 10-15 drops each Joy, Release, Orange, Bergamot & fIll with carrier and/or Relaxation Massage Oil
  • Daily Zen Roller Blend - 10-15 drops each White Angelica, Valor, Patchouli, Tangerine, Bergamot, Lavender, Stress Away & fIll with carrier and/or Relaxation Massage Oil
  • Finding Hope Roller Blend - 20 drops Davana, 15 drops each Idaho Blue Spruce, Grapefruit, Bergamot, Lime & fIll with carrier and/or Relaxation Massage Oil
  • Stress Way Away Roller Blend - 20 drops each Stress Away, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Lavender  & fIll with carrier and/or Relaxation Massage Oil
  • Peaceful Feelings Roller Blend - 20 drops Peace & Calming, 15 drops Tangerine, Bergamot, Davana, Lavender  & fIll with carrier and/or Relaxation Massage Oil

DIYs with Thieves - March 2023

DIYs with Theives

If there were only one oil we could have in our arsenal, it would probably be Thieves. This blend of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils is a powerhouse when it comes to our health and our homes, and these DIYs are ones we reach for time and again. 

Beauty DIYs with Thieves

Fresh Breath Spray Whip up this freshening spray and keep it in your bag to freshen up your breath anytime you need it! 
  • 10mL glass spray bottle 
  • 2 drops Spearmint Vitality
  • 1 drop Thieves Vitality
  • Splash Thieves Mouthwash
  • Fill with filtered water
  • Shake well before use.
DIY Oil-Infused Shower Melts
  • 1 Cup Baking Soda 
  • 1/2 Cup High Quality Epsom Salt  
  • 30 Drops Of Essential Oil(s) (Thieves, Lemon, Raven, Eucalyptus, Peppermint in any combination or alone)
  • Water (about 2-3 teaspoons)
  • Silicone mold  
  • Pour the baking soda and epsom salt into a mixing bowl. Slowly add water, about 2 teaspoons, and mix well. If the mixture is not holding, add another teaspoon of water. Add essential oil(s) of your choice and mix well. Scoop into silicone molds and let sit overnight. Remove and store in an airtight container.
  • To use, simply place a shower melt on the floor of the shower near the water but not directly in the stream. Enjoy!
Lemon Herb Foot Scrub
Give your tired feet some love with this Lemon Herb Foot Scrub
  • 2 Tbsp Organic Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 Tbsp of Honey
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice 
  • 3 drops each Thieves, Lemon
  • Mix ingredients well then rub onto feet. Wrap feet with warm damp towels and let sit for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes remove the towel and wipe off the scrub. Follow with moisturizer if desired.
Herbal Bath Soak
Make this simple herbal soak or a little self care and to give tense or tired muscles some TLC: 
Immune Boost Bath Soak
Try this recipe whenever you feel your defenses going down.
Thieves Lip Scrub
This simple DIY is great for soft, tingly lips!
  • 7 drops Vanilla 
  • 5 drops Thieves
  • ¼ cup White Sugar
  • ¼ cup Coconut Oil
  • Whip coconut oil with a mixer, then add in sugar and essential oils and mix again.  Store in a glass jar. Apply nightly to lips in a circular motion. Wipe off with a dry towel.
Natural Deodorant Spray
Herbal Oatmeal Bath Soak
This Herbal-Oatmeal Bath Soak is simple, inexpensive, and packed with amazing skin benefits. Oats help soothe and repair dry, itchy, and irritated skin, making them a staple in many all-natural beauty products!
  • 1 cup epsom salt 
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup baking soda 
  • 5 drops Thieves essential oil
  • 10 drops Frankincense essential oil
  • 15 drops Lavender essential oil
  • Grind oats in a food processor or coffee grinder into a fine flour-like texture, then mix all ingredients in a bowl until oils are evenly distributed. Store in a glass jar and use about 1 cup of mixture per bath. Create a pouch for your mixture using a sock or pantyhose to reduce floating oatmeal flakes in your bath.
DIY Lotion Bar
Give your skin some much-deserved love! This DIY lotion bar uses the warmth of your body to melt natural emollients and essential oils into the skin to smooth, moisturize and hydrate dry hands, heels, elbows, and more.
  • ½ cup extra-virgin coconut oil
  • ½ cup beeswax
  • ¼ cup shea butter
  • ¼ cup cocoa butter 
  • 10 drops each Lavender, Thieves essential oils OR 20-25 drops oil(s) of choice
  • Optional: dried lavender buds and lemon zest for exfoliation
  • Materials: 16-ounce measuring cup, Medium-sized saucepan, Silicone molds or muffin tin
  • Combine coconut oil, beeswax, shea butter, and cocoa butter in a 16-ounce glass measuring cup. Place in a pot with water that rises halfway up the measuring cup.  Bring water to a boil, stirring frequently until ingredients are completely melted, then remove measuring cup from the pot.
  • Add dried lavender and lemon zest, if desired. Add essential oils and stir until completely combined. Immediately pour into molds and let sit overnight. Once cooled, remove the lotion from the molds. Store in a cool, dry place.
Household DIYs with Thieves

DIY Laundry Scent Booster
Freshen up your laundry with this simple DIY!
  • To a large glass jar with airtight lid add
  • 1 1/2 cup epsom salt 
  • 1/2 cup baking soda 
  • 30 drops Thieves (or mix Thieves and Lemon)
  • Whisk together until all ingredients are well combined.
  • To use: add 1-2 Tbl into the washer before adding any laundry. Add laundry and the normal amount of laundry detergent.
Mattress & Upholstery Spray
Use this spray when you change the sheets or anytime a surface needs a little freshening. It's great for those who struggle with allergies too! 
Carpet Purifying Powder
Give your carpets and rugs a daily refresh before vacuuming with this simple DIY! 
  • 4 oz glass jar 
  • 1 cup baking soda 
  • ½ cup fine sea salt 
  • 10 drops each Thieves, Lemon essential oils
  • Add baking soda and salt to a jar, and mix well. Add essential oils, stir, then place the top on the jar and shake well. Optional: use a small knife or drill to make small holes in the top of the jar. Sprinkle onto carpets and let sit 10-15 minutes before vacuuming! 
DIY Commode Spray
Stop bathroom odors before they get embarrassing with this DIY Commode Spray. Whether you're home alone, sharing a hotel room, or hosting a dinner party, spritz this toilet spray before you go to block those bowl-bouncing odors.  
  • 8 ounce glass spray bottle 
  • 4 teaspoons vegetable glycerin 
  • 6 teaspoons rubbing alcohol 
  • Approximately 6 ounces distilled water
  • 2 teaspoons Thieves Household Cleaner
  • 30-40 drops each Thieves, Eucalyptus Radiata essential oils OR oil(s) of choice
  • Combine essential oils and vegetable glycerin in a spray bottle. Add rubbing alcohol and Thieves Household Cleaner; mix well. Fill to the top with distilled water. Shake well until thoroughly combined. Store on the back of the commode for easy use!
  • To use: Shake well, then spray 3-6 times into the toilet bowl before you go. Do your business and flush as usual.
DIY Scented Sachets
In the rush of our daily routines, we often pass by mundane spaces like our lingerie drawer or linen closet without a second thought. Making something sweet-smelling for these nooks and crannies will produce a simple pleasure to greet you each time you open a drawer or cupboard in your home.
  • ½ cup uncooked rice
  • ¼ cup Epsom salt 
  • 1 cup dried lavender buds 
  • Muslin cotton drawstring pouches, approximately 5 inches long by 4 inches wide (or go green and use an old sock, fabric scraps, etc.)
  • 40 drops total essential oil(s) of choice: Lavender, Thieves, Eucalyptus, Lemon
  • In a medium bowl, mix rice, Epsom salt, flower buds, and essential oil to thoroughly scent the mixture. Spoon mixture into your pouch. Place anywhere you want to add a fresh lavender scent. Refresh your pouch every 2-3 weeks by opening it up and adding more drops of essential oil.
DIY Cleaning Fizzies
Make these simple and versatile cleaning fizzies to add some plant-power to your cleaning routine! 
  • 1 cup baking soda 
  • ½ cup citric acid 
  • ½ cup cornstarch 
  • 4 teaspoons water
  • 40 drops essential oils (Thieves, Lemon, Lavender, Tangerine)
  • 3 teaspoons V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex or other carrier
  • Ice cube tray or small silicone mold 
    • Step 1 - In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients and mix evenly.
    • Step 2 - In a separate bowl, combine water, essential oils or blends, and V-6.
    • Step 3 - Pour liquids into the large bowl and mix together until combined.
    • Step 4 - Use the mixture to fill an ice cube tray or candy mold about three fourths full. If the mixture expands and spills over the mold, gently repack into the mold.
    • Step 5 - Let sit overnight to dry in a room temperature area. When dry, pop tablets out and store in a glass jar.
      To Use - When needed, put a tablet in the toilet bowl, hard-to-clean bottles, or sink full of dishes to help clean and deodorize. Let sit in the bowl, bottle, or sink for 20–30 minutes to fizz and dissolve. Once dissolved, flush or rinse out.

DAILY HABITS WITH THE THIEVES HOME LOYALTY BUNDLE

Create a cozy home with these green cleaning products!

Whip up a Thieves Household Cleaner for general cleaning - counters, bathrooms, everywhere!
  • To the 16 oz glass spray bottle add 1-2 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner.
  • Option to add 10-15 drops each Lemon and Thieves essential oils.
  • Fill with filtered water.
Pretreat stains with Thieves Dish Soap! Simply drop onto stains, use a wooden laundry brush to rub in, then wash in Thieves Laundry Soap.

Make a stain stick!
  • 30mL roller bottle 
  • Fill halfway with Thieves Household Cleaner
  • Add 1 tbsp hydrogen peroxide
  • 10 drops Lemon essential oil
  • Fill the remainder with Thieves Dish Soap
    Shake well and roll onto stains, then brush with a wooden laundry brush
Try this Laundry Stripping Recipe to remove built-up soap, dirt and residues (great for sheets, towels or clothes that have been in storage!) 
  • 1 cup Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Borax 
  • ½ cup Thieves Laundry Soap
  • ¼ cup Thieves Household Cleaner
  • 4 capfuls Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak 
  • 5 drops each Lemongrass, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, & Lemon (or just use a mix of Lemon and Thieves if that's all you have!)
  • Mix all into very hot water.
  • Add linens and let soak for a couple hours, stirring every so often. Squeeze out water, rinse and wash per usual. 
Use Lemon and Thieves in DIY cleaning products for a fresh, sparkling home.

Make a linen or upholstery spray to spray on bed linens, couches and other furniture (and ditch the Febreeze!)
  • To 2oz glass spray bottle add
  • Up to 30 drops oil
  • Splash witch hazel
  • Fill with filtered water 
  • Drop essential oils onto wool dryer balls (2-3 drops per ball) for fresh laundry without the dryer sheets.
Make a DIY Wood Polish
  • 1 cup olive oil)
  • 5 drops Thieves
  • 5 drops Lemon essential oil
Diffuse Thieves and Lemon together anytime you need a little freshening!

  • Make a room spray by filling a 4-ounce spray bottle with distilled water, a dash of salt, and 30 drops of oil.
  • Create cozy, winter-inspired bath salts with 5 drops of your chosen blend, 1 tablespoon bath gel, and 1 cup Epsom salt. (Always mix the oil thoroughly into the bath gel before adding to bath water.)
