DIY Pumpkin Pie Spice Candles
This fun autumn DIY is perfect for bringing the warm, cozy feeling of the season into your home! Cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom and more combine for a perfect fall scent. Adding whole spices adds even more scent and beauty to these candles, making them a wonderful gift as well!
Supplies Needed:
Step 1 - Thread the wicks through a wick holder and apply the wicks tabs firmly to the bottom of your jar or container using glue dots or hot glue.
Step 2 - Place the jars on a baking sheet/tray and keep in the oven set at the lowest temperature until you are ready to pour the wax. Warming the containers helps the wax to distribute in the container evenly.
Step 3 - Melt beeswax in a double boiler. Heat and stir until the wax has fully melted and no solids remain.
Step 4 - Let the wax cool to 155°F / 68°C. Then stir in the essential oils
Step 5 - Carefully fill each container to about 1 cm below the rim of the jar. Be careful that the wicks stay in the center of the container.
Step 6 - Sprinkle with a pinch of pumpkin spice and arrange whole spices as desired. You'll know you can decorate the candle when the wax becomes cloudy and sets around the edges.
Step 7 - Let the candles cool at room temperature (not the refrigerator!) for several hours or better overnight. Allowing the wax to cool slowly will create the best-looking candles and helps to avoid crack.
Step 8 - Once the candles are hard, remove the wick holder and trim the wicks to 1/4 in / 0.6 cm.
