pickle recipe

Whether you have an abundance of cucumbers from the garden or just want to try making you own pickles... This is a super simple recipe that I fell in love with! I discovered how easy pickles were to make on your own a few years back when my husband's grandmother shared her recipe with me and we made some together one afternoon. This was back when we lived in Canada, but with life how it is right now- I wanted to figure out a way to bring that "home" feeling to my husband, so I gave this a try.
Recipe:
Slice cucumbers & onions to fill a ice cream container (or 3-4 jars in my case)

In a pot put in...
3 cups vinegar
6 cups sugar
2 tbsp salt
1 1/2 tsp tumeric
1 1/2 tsp celery seed
1 1/2 mustard seed

Bring to a boil and boil for 2 minutes. Pour hot mixture over cucumbers and onions. Put a plate over to hold them in the mixture (if using large container). Put in the fridge and stir (or shake if using jars) every day for five days. Put into jars and enjoy!
