Earth Day Everyday

Earth Day Everyday

image
Sustainability is a really important facet of our lives, and simply being aware allows us to think outside the box when it comes to repurposing things. We don't have to be perfect or completely zero waste either. When we all do small things to reduce and reuse packaging, it can go a long way!

You've already started your sustainability journey simply by using Young Living products. The company is committed to sustainable farming practices, regenerative farming and more when it comes to stewarding the earth. We want to be good stewards of the earth everyday in our homes as well, so here are a few simple tips, tricks and DIYs you can implement today!

One simple way to work towards sustainability is to purchase products that are concentrated, making less packaging need to be recycled. Here are a few of our favorites:

Also, with just about all of the Young Living products, a little goes a long way! So we are purchasing less single use plastic, recycling what we can and finding unique uses for the rest.

Ways to Reuse Plastic Bags

  • Rinse and use to store non-food items in the home.
  • Cut off the zip top (recycle it with plastic bags) and use the clear plastic bag as a gift bag! Add tissue or paper to the bottom, then add items and tie at the top with ribbon.
  • Recycle them with plastic grocery bags. (Many food packaging bags can be recycled this way as well. Just check the bottom of the bag!)
Ways to Reuse Plastic Packages

  • If you change your own oil in your vehicle, the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap bottle makes a great vessel for collecting oil! You can cut off the top if needed. Think of this long bottle as one with a built in funnel of sorts, and you'll find uses for sure.
  • When your Thieves Household Cleaner is empty, keep the bottle and add a spray top to use in DIYs, for the garden, or mix up a second bottle of cleaner to keep in the bathroom.
  • Use the empty bottles from the Thieves Household Cleaner or Thieves Laundry Soap to pre-dilute them for ease of use.
  • Refill empty hand soap bottles and give to friends.
  • Recycle any bottles you can't repurpose.
  • Use Thieves Hand Sanitizer bottles for travel size shampoo and conditioner! Just wash out and fill with anything for a travel size option.
  • Use empty Thieves Mints containers to store supplements on the go.
  • Use larger bottles to grow herbs! Take a Thieves Foaming Hand Soap Refill bottle, and cut off the top. Add some drainage holes to the bottom, plant desired herbs, and place in a sunny spot. You can also use the Thieves Laundry Soap, Thieves Household Cleaner and Thieves Dish Soap bottles.
Ways to Reuse Glass Oil Bottles

  • Use them as small vases.
  • Use to create pre-made diffuser blends.
  • Add a dropper top to use for DIY serums or diffuser blends.
  • Refill them with the same oil and keep at a different location in the home.
  • When bottles are empty, place in some epsom salt (mix them all in a large jar together!) to remove any remaining oil (then use the essential-oil infused epsom salt in your bath or a foot bath). OR place them in a jar of water and use the water in the diffuser.
  • Use clean, empty bottles to make a windchime!
Ways to Reuse Cardboard & Packing Tubes

  • Use the tubes to start seeds/seedlings for your garden.
  • Cover in peanut butter and bird seed and hand in front of a window to watch the birds.
  • Make spy glasses, telescopes or other creative toys with the cardboard tubes.
  • Use the circular ends of tubes to paint interesting shapes.
  • Use the tubes to store paint brushes or other small items.
  • Gather multiple tubes, then tape onto a wall or a poster board in various arrangements, connecting some to each other, and let toddlers place soft balls through them like a marble maze. Here is an example!
  • Compost or recycle the boxes and tubes.
  • Use the cardboard as a weed block in garden and flower beds. Simply lay it on the ground, cover with leaves or small mulch and allow it to sit before adding dirt and plants.
  • Make a cardboard box tower by taping multiple boxes together, then let your kids paint it!
No matter which of these suggestions you choose (or if you come up with something on your own), taking small steps everyday adds up to a big impact!

These oils are ones we reach for over and over, and they are cornerstones of your natural health and wellness routines!

Golden Touch 1 Collection Oils
The oils in this collection are wonderful for everyday use to support the body from different directions!

  • Melrose - Melrose is a combination of four oils: Melaleuca Alternifolia, Melaleuca Quinquenervia, Rosemary, and Clove, making it a wonderful cleansing blend for body and mind! This is one oil we reach for when the crud hits, when we have skin needs, when our airways need some support, and even for cleaning! Use Melrose as you would Tea Tree, and enjoy its rich, herbaceous scent diffused with Thieves, Lavender, or Orange.
  • Raven - Raven is the oil blend to reach for when you want to breathe deeply! Raven is a crisp, airway opening blend containing Ravintsara (commonly known as camphor), Eucalyptus Radiata, Lemon, Peppermint, and Wintergreen. This oil is wonderful for respiratory and immune support! Diffuse it, add it to epsom salts when your defenses are going down, make a simple chest rub with Raven and coconut oil, or place a few drops on your shower floor every morning.
  • R.C. -  This gentle eucalyptus blend is formulated for the whole family and is our favorite for happy noses. R.C. stands for “respiratory comfort,” and it gives comfort to your respiratory system indeed! R.C. combines Cypress, Spruce, and three types of Eucalyptus oils (E. citriodora, E. globulus, and E. radiata) for a respiratory blend that is more herbaceous than Raven.
  • DiGize Vitality - DiGize is your BFF for a happy digestive system. So much of our health is linked to a diverse, well balanced gut, but immune health is especially dependent on a healthy belly. DiGize is our go to for all things digestion! This blend of Tarragon, Ginger, Peppermint, Juniper, Fennel, Lemongrass, Anise, and Patchouli is so soothing. Roll it over your abdomen whenever digestive discomfort hits, add it to an empty capsule with olive oil and take daily to support a healthy belly, add it to a large glass of water – however you use DiGize, this oil will make a believer out of even the most skeptical!
  • Endoflex Vitality - EndoFlex is your daily dose of happy hormone support! This supports the entire endocrine system – from your thyroid to the adrenals to estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. EndoFlex Spearmint, Sage, Geranium, Myrtle, German Chamomile, and Nutmeg in a sesame seed oil base. These oils specifically support the adrenal system, thyroid, and overall endocrine health. Apply this oil over the front of the throat (thyroid) and lower back (adrenals), diffuse it, even use it along the spine for big emotions and to support tweens and teens as they grow!
  • JuvaFlex Vitality - JuvaFlex is daily support for a happy, healthy liver. The liver is the filtering organ of the body, so it is constantly processing everything we are exposed to on a daily basis. JuvaFlex combines Blue Tansy, Fennel, Geranium, Helichrysum, Roman Chamomile, and Rosemary essential oils – each of which helps the body process and eliminate toxins, cleansing the system and supporting overall health and vitality. The liver is also where anger is stored in the body, so supporting it well and practicing emotional release can have amazing health benefits. If you're needing support for a specific issue and don't know what else to do, try liver support and cleansing! It can be such a huge part of health.
  • Thieves Vitality - Thieves is the original oil when it comes to all things immune! Thieves is our germ-fighting best friend. This is a legendary blend of purifying essential oils - Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus radiata, and Rosemary - that are well known for immune support and cleansing properties. Diffuse it, apply it, ingest it in some hot tea – just get the oil in and around you every day!

Young Living's proprietary Raindrop Technique bodywork combines powerful essential oils with multiple modalities of healing. Raindrop includes unique, targeted massage and energy approaches with pure essential oils for a deeply harmonizing, rejuvenating, and relaxing experience that supports overall health. The Raindrop method is a revolutionary means of nurturing harmony within the body—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Background

The Raindrop Technique was developed by Young Living Founder D. Gary Young in 1989 as a unique practice based on methods that have been used for centuries to rejuvenate the body and mind. Inspired by the Lakota Native American tradition of observing the northern lights while inhaling the affirming aroma of nearby conifer trees, the Raindrop Technique helps bring balance and harmony to the body by combining targeted massage and essential oils with specific health properties. These oils are well known for their ability to support the body's natural response to inflammation and pathogens, to soothe the respiratory system, support immunity and ease muscle tension.

Raindrop Massage

During a Raindrop massage, the oils are dispensed onto the back like drops of rain, from about 6 inches above. As they are dropped onto the skin along the spine, the oils are lightly feathered up along the vertebrae and out along the muscles from the base of the spine to the neck. Because of the large amount of nerve endings along the spine, the oils continue to work for several days after application.

Start by applying Valor to the soles of the feet and massaging in gently. Then, apply the oils individually, starting at the base of the spine and feathering each one upward and outward before applying the next one. Apply 3-5 drops of each oil in this order: Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Cypress, Wintergreen, Marjoram, Aroma Siez, Peppermint, and Valor.

For more detailed instructions on how to perform a Raindrop Massage, watch this video from the Young Living YouTube channel.

Key Constituents
*Constituents are naturally occurring compounds in plants (and therefore essential oils) that give them specific health-supporting propertiesSome studies on the constituents in these oils have suggested the following:

  • Carvacrol - this constituent provides incredible benefits including immune health (overall and digestive), antioxidants, and may support the body's ability to heal.
  • Thymol - contains cleansing properties, antioxidants and supports the body during times of inflammation.
  • Alpha-pinene - a powerful antioxidant, some studies have shown alpha-pinene to support the body through inflammation and to help calm the mind
  • Limonene - known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-stress support, this is a powerful constituent with many health benefits
Raindrop & Emotions

Because our bodies are intricately designed, we cannot separate the physical from the emotional, and Raindrop can be a powerful emotional tool as well! When we begin to fall below the wellness line it affects us physically, yes, but also spiritually, emotionally, mentally – which means that supporting our physical bodies also helps support our emotions.

Whether it is muscular, from an immune system need or something else, physical pain and stress on the body also affects the emotions. Massage can be a wonderful tool for relieving this, and adding in the powerful properties of the Raindrop oils takes the healing even further!

The Raindrop Collection can help to promote physical health within the body and also helps to lift the spirit, reduce stress and calm the mind. The herbaceous scents of these oils are so soothing!

The essential oils in PanAway work differently than conventional over the counter muscle rubs. Conventional products contain counter-irritants that simply make the skin tingle so the brain forgets the underlying pain.

Essential oils work differently. They can penetrate through the skin, into the cells of the muscles and tendons to support the body through pain and healing. Each oil in PanAway plays a specific role in supporting the body.

  • Helichrysum - supports the body through inflammation, muscle spasms and pain
  • Clove - a powerful antioxidant that helps the body during pain and also supports immune system
  • Peppermint - main constituent is menthol, which may work as an analgesic and is highly effective at penetrating through the skin, allowing the essential oils to reach the areas of need.
Key Constituents
*Constituents are naturally occurring compounds in plants (and therefore essential oils) that give them specific health-supporting properties

  • Methyl-salicylate - a naturally-occurring compound that may have analgesic properties; synthetic methyl-salicylate is commonly used in many over the counter preparations for minor aches and pains.

PanAway & Emotions

Did you know that all of our essential oils have stress relieving benefits - even if they don't have a special name? It's easy to remember to grab the Joy, Stress Away, or Peace & Calming when it comes to dealing with less “physical” issues, but when you put together a list of your must have basic oils, no matter what they are, they will all be supporting your emotional functions as well.

One of the heavy-hitters in the round up of basic oils is PanAway. It smells like root beer. You probably keep it on hand for physical relief, muscle soreness, cooling massage after a workout, but get ready - this blend also helps us to release…

Exhaustion. Sign me up for a vat!!!

We all know that pain is exhausting, and emotional pain can be crippling when it is pushed down for a long time without being addressed. Our connective tissue and muscles are directly affected by this type of repressed stress.

When you use essential oils, you are not simply addressing a surface issue of “something hurts”. Essential oils interact with our brain and our nervous system. As we intentionally work on managing stress, we begin to CHANGE the instructions and signals our brain is sending out for our survival and protection.

If you find yourself exhausted, it may be time to have a talk with inner you. What is swimming around in there, unanswered, unheard, unfelt. Using PanAway can be a great way to start releasing some of that deep pain and/or exhaustion.

Charcoal Mask

When you're pampering and detoxing your skin with a mask, the last thing you should have to worry about is harsh, synthetic ingredients!! Made with Tahitian volcanic black sand to gently exfoliate for softer, glowing skin, activated charcoal and a blend of ethically sourced kaolin clays, this mask will lift dirt and oil, purify pores, detox skin, and help restore the appearance of an even skin tone.

For oily, combination, and normal skin - Cleanse face with a gentle, non-irritating cleanser; then apply a thin layer of the mask to clean face and allow the mask to harden for 5–20 minutes. Once the mask has changed color and is hard, rinse with warm water to remove. Avoid the eye area, nostrils, and lips. Follow with the rest of your skin care routine, including moisturizer to rehydrate. Use 1–3 times per week.

For dry and sensitive skin - Apply a thin layer of the mask to a clean face and allow the mask to harden for 5–10 minutes. Once the mask has changed color and is hard, rinse with warm water to remove. Avoid the eye area, nostrils, and lips. Your skin will likely feel dry after rinsing, so promptly follow with the rest of your skin care routine, including moisturizer to rehydrate. Use as needed or as a spot treatment.

Create a skincare and true self-care ritual:
  • Add a calming blend to your diffuse (Lavender, Tangerine + Patchouli is a great one!)
  • Turn on a gentle fan or space heater to make the environment comfortable.
  • Take time to wash your face, then apply the Charcoal Mask.
  • As it sits, brush and floss your teeth (10/10 recommend Thieves AromaBright Toothpaste and Dental Floss), apply some Lavender Hand & Body Lotion, or some CBD Muscle Rub to the tense areas of your neck and shoulders, drink some water, and take your Life 9 Probiotic.
  • Use warm water to remove the mask, then apply a moisturizer like CBD Beauty Boost or BLOOM or your desired moisturizer.
  • Finish with lip balm and your favorite sleep roller (Tranquil is a fan fave!).

Envision Essential

Oil Blend Spotlight

Envision is one of our favorite blends for inspiring confident, inspired feelings. This is the blend we reach for when planning, setting goals, and reaching towards new opportunities. Envision can stimulate feelings of intuitive creativity and resourcefulness, encourage renewed faith in the future and help awaken the inner drive necessary to achieve your dreams!

Just a Drop of Envision

  • A lovely blend of Rose, Spruce, Orange, and more
  • Makes a wonderful personal fragrance
  • Has a calming, supporting aroma
  • Supports emotional grounding and a futuristic view
  • Encourages feelings of strength and faith
Envision is a blend of six amazing essential oils that can inspire you to release the fear of moving forward. When using this blend intentionally, you may feel a shift that allows you to envision and embrace a new future. Not only does it smell amazing, but Envision can be a powerful emotional tool that can help you tap into your creativity and intuition.

Key Constituents

  • Orange - Orange essential oil is an instant mood booster! This bright, happy oil is great for promoting an aroma of joy and creativity, and it pairs well with floral oils like Rose and Geranium.

Winter Spa Diffuser Blends - Jan 2024

Winter Spa Diffuser Blends

There is something fundamentally refreshing about a new year. It's a time to rest, to renew, to sit and enjoy the slowness of winter while holding space for our dreams, our needs and our desires.

Winter is a time to reflect on what we want to continue giving energy to and what we want to gratefully release. During this time let's make room for true self-care everyday with journaling, meditation, and a spa-like experience right in the comfort of your home.

This collection of diffuser blends features some of our favorite winter oils - Lavender, Lemon, Raven, Frankincense, Rosemary and more. These are the blends we are reaching for right now as we extend our winter hibernation, reflect on the year past, set personal and health goals for the future, and refresh and renew our bodies and spirits as we look forward to the year ahead with expectant hope.

Our diffusers are running 24/7 in our homes, supporting our immune systems, respiratory systems, emotions, cleansing the air and making things smell happy and inviting all at the same time.

LIFE HACK - You can easily transform these blends into roller recipes and sprays!

To make a 10 mL roller from any recipe - triple the number of drops to make a total of 35-45 total drops, add a carrier of choice (we love V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex) and you're good to go.

To make a 2 oz spray from any recipe - double the number of drops to a total of about 25 drops, ad a splash of witch hazel and fill with filtered water. Spray on upholstered surfaces, bedding, rugs, anywhere you want to freshen!

Happy diffusing!!

Deep Relief Roll-on Spotlight - Dec 2023

Deep Relief Roll-on Spotlight

Say hello to our go-to blend for relieving anything that is tired or sore - Deep Relief! This pre-diluted roll-on is soothing, cooling and comforting and so easy to use! This blend features Wintergreen, containing methyl salicylate, and Peppermint, containing menthol, both of which create a cooling, soothing sensation when applied to your skin. It is our absolute favorite for anything that needs relief!

Just a Drop of Deep Relief

  • Calming and soothing for fatigued muscles after physical activity
  • Pre-diluted so you can just open and apply
  • Comes as a roll-on so you can easily apply wherever you need it
  • Provides a cooling sensation when applied to shoulders, neck, and head
  • Helps release tension in the neck and shoulders
  • Has a refreshing and stimulating aroma that soothes stress and tension
The essential oils in Deep Relief work so well when it comes to relieving tension and discomfort in the body. But, they work differently than conventional over the counter muscle rubs. Conventional products contain counter-irritants that simply make the skin tingle so the brain forgets the underlying pain. Essential oils work differently. They can penetrate through the skin, into the cells of the muscles and tendons to support the body through pain and healing. This is a huge win!

Key Ingredients
All nine essential oils in Deep Relief were carefully selected to create this soothing oil's invigorating benefits!

  • Peppermint - This cooling oil's main constituent is menthol, which is soothing and highly effective at penetrating through the skin, allowing the essential oils to reach the areas of need. Peppermint is also invigorating when you're feeling stress and tension.
  • Lemon - High in the immune-supporting constituent limonene, Lemon is cooling to the mind and body.
  • Grand Fir - Tree oils are soothing to both the mind and body, especially in the presence of inflammation. Grand fir supports the body's natural response to pain and injury, so they are great for soothing tired muscles.
  • Clove - This oil is a powerful antioxidant that helps the body during pain, provides relief to joints and muscles, and also supports the immune system!
  • Copaiba - Copaiba is the main fireman, putting out all the fires and soothing the body through times of inflammation and injury. This oil is so calming and relaxing to the body and is one of our favorites even for little ones.
  • Wintergreen - High in natural salicylates, Wintergreen supports the body's response to injury and inflammation, supports pain reduction, and soothes tired and sore joints and muscles.
  • Helichrysum - This oil is a powerhouse. It supports the body through inflammation, muscle spasms and pain, soothes and calms body and mind, and helps the body's natural regeneration processes.

  • Menthol - has been studied for is use to support healing and relief of minor aches and pains
  • Limonene, Eugenol, and Beta caryophyllene
Deep Relief & Emotions

Did you know that all of our essential oils have stress relieving benefits - even if they don't have a special name? It's easy to remember to grab the Joy, Stress Away, or Peace & Calming when it comes to dealing with less “physical” issues, but when you put together a list of your must have basic oils, no matter what they are, they will all be supporting your emotional functions as well.

One of the heavy-hitters in the round up of basic oils is Deep Relief. It is amazing for physical relief, muscle soreness, and a cooling massage after a workout, but get ready - this blend also helps us to release…

  • Exhaustion. Sign me up for a vat!!!
  • We all know that pain is exhausting, and emotional pain can be crippling when it is pushed down for a long time without being addressed. Our connective tissue and muscles are directly affected by this type of repressed stress.
  • When you use essential oils, you are not simply addressing a surface issue of “something hurts”. Essential oils interact with our brain and our nervous system. As we intentionally work on managing stress, we begin to CHANGE the instructions and signals our brain is sending out for our survival and protection.
  • If you find yourself exhausted, it may be time to have a talk with inner you. What is swimming around in there, unanswered, unheard, unfelt. Using Deep Relief can be a great way to start releasing some of that deep pain and/or exhaustion.
Daily Habits with Deep Relief

Christmas Spirit Blend Spotlight - Dec 2023

Christmas Spirit Essential

Oil Blend Spotlight

Although we love this blend all year long, there's just a special place in our hearts for Christmas Spirit during the holidays. It doesn't get much better than this cozy scent that lights up the whole room! Make sure you buy now because it's only available for a limited time during the holiday season!

Just a Drop of Christmas Spirit

  • Has an uplifting and joyful aroma
  • Evokes memories of joy, happiness, comfort, and security
  • Fills your space with the scents of winter holidays without the toxins in candles
  • Perfect to use during holiday gatherings
  • Fabulous to gift to friends (add a diffuser or a Thieves Cleaner!)
Christmas Spirit is a sweet, spicy blend of essential oils that taps into the happiness, joy, and security associated with the holiday season. Not only does it smell like perfection without attacking your respiratory system like synthetic scents, but it is also an effective way to work through the many emotions and memories that crop up during this time of year.
Christmas Spirit is a beautiful medley of three quintessential winter oils:

  • Orange - has a bright aroma that promotes feelings of joy, peace, and happiness; high in limonene, which is great for the immune system
  • Cinnamon Bark - the oil of wealth from the Orient, this spicy sweet oil is reminiscent of holidays and is supportive of immune health.
  • Black Spruce - like other tree oils, spruce promotes feeling of balance and grounding which are often needed during the holidays.
Key Constituents

Constituents are naturally occurring compounds in plants (and therefore essential oils) that give them specific health-supporting properties.

  • Monoterpenes - can support the respiratory system, are responsible for many immune system support properties of essential oils.
  • Sesquiterpenes - may stimulate the limbic system of the brain, help lower brain waves from overly active to focused or from focused to meditative, help elevate the mood and calm the body.
  • Limonene - known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-stress support, this is a powerful constituent with many health benefits.
Christmas Spirit & Emotions

The oils in Christmas Spirit not only smell incredible and festive, they are wonderful emotional support tools! Orange and other citrus oils are bright, happy and help stimulate creativity. When we are overwhelmed emotionally or are feeling undervalued or not heard, our creativity can suffer. Citrus oils, especially Orange, can help us shift our focus back towards our needs when we use them intentionally!

The Spruce and Evergreen family of oils are the ones to reach for when you feel like you are comparing yourself to others, are feeling undervalued or as though your unique voice has no place. Cinnamon Bark is spicy and sweet, alerting to the senses and the mind. It can help move sadness and grief through the body as it physically warms the skin and helps us stay in our bodies (versus constantly being in our thoughts and emotions) so we can process and heal.

Stop for a moment and breathe deeply, connect to what is truly happening in your body and emotions and use this oil blend to help get your body back into safety. Read more about how to process and release emotions in this powerful book Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils

Grapefruit Essential Oil Spotlight - Nov 2023

Grapefruit Essential

Oil Spotlight

Grapefruit is a bright, happy citrus oil cold pressed from the rind of the fruit. Just the name brings up images of bright citrus and sunny days! This versatile (and inexpensive!) oil is a household staple for everything from cleaning to skincare to emotions.

Just a Drop of Grapefruit

  • Great for metabolism and cravings
  • Support for energy and endurance
  • Boosts skin health and glow
  • Can help combat jet lag and fatigue
  • Uplifting to the spirits and mood to relieve stress
  • Supporting the body's digestive and cleansing functions, including the liver
  • Helps encourage feelings of  joy, satisfaction, and playfulness.
  • Has a cleansing effect on the kidneys, the lymphatic system, and the vascular system.
Background

A natural cross of the pomelo and the sweet orange, grapefruit likely originated in Jamaica before spreading to America and throughout citrus-growing areas. Today this evergreen tree is cultivated in the United States, South Africa, Brazil, and Israel. Grapefruit essential oil has a zesty, uplifting aroma that refreshes the air when diffused. It also provides cleansing action, making it a popular addition to skin care and home cleaning products.

Grapefruit & Blood Pressure Medication

Many commonly used prescription blood pressure medications carry a warning about drinking grapefruit juice while taking the medication. So it is often questioned whether it is ok to use and ingest grapefruit oil. The short answer to that question is YES.

The issue with grapefruit juice and blood pressure medications is a compound called DHB which can affect the activity of liver enzymes, therefore affecting how your body metabolizes certain medications (blood pressure + cholesterol meds mostly).  However, DHB is NOT found in grapefruit oil, only in juice.

Young Living's Grapefruit Essential Oil is cold pressed from the rind of the fruit, giving it a completely different profile and constituents than grapefruit juice.

Note: This is not designed to diagnose or treat and cannot provide specific individual recommendations. We encourage you to find functional medicine or naturopathic medical providers who are familiar with essential oils + other natural practices.

Key Constituents
Constituents are naturally occurring compounds in plants (and therefore essential oils) that give them sprecic health-supporting properties.

D-limonene - a natural detoxing constituent and appetite suppressant, supports healthy metabolism, helps with cleansing and drainage of the lymphatic glands. Improper lymph drainage is a key component of cellulite production, which is one reason Grapefruit Oil is a good choice for supporting healthy weight. Cellulite is essentially a lymph drainage problem as toxins and fluid accumulate as fat pockets when the lymph system is not working properly.

Adding Grapefruit to your daily routine (along with other healthy habits!) is a great way to boost your metabolism, enhance fat loss, flush out toxins, and to manage your weight.
  • Add 1-2 drops of Grapefruit Vitality to your water and drink first thing in the morning
  • Add 1-2 drops of Grapefruit Vitality to your water and drink a glass after a meal to help with bloating and improve digestion.
  • Make a capsule with Grapefruit, Peppermint, and Lemon Vitality together with olive oil to help with cravings and to jumpstart metabolism.
Grapefruit & Emotions

Grapefruit, like other citrus oils, is a wonderful tool for emotional support! Citrus oils evoke the sense of warm, sunny, carefree days which are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. One major reason for this is because citrus oils contain the constituent Limonene, a compound that is a potent free radical scavenger. Free radicals cause oxidative stress and damage to the body at a cellular level, therefore affecting every body system. Less oxidative stress from free radicals is a key for less negative emotions.

Limonene is wonderful for boosting the mood and may increase the amount of calming neurotransmitters in the brain. When we are feeling worried, stressed or indecisive we have a difficult time accessing the right side of our brains, and citrus oils are a great tool! Citrus oils are stimulating to the right side of the brain and can help us work through these emotional blocks.

Bottom line? Whenever you're needing a little emotional pick me up, reach for the bright, happy aroma of Grapefruit!
