Sourdough Discard Brownies

Indulge in a unique twist on a classic treat with sourdough discard brownies, blending traditional chocolate brownies with the tang and texture of sourdough starter. This delightful recipe calls for everyday ingredients such as butter or coconut oil, dark brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and a pinch of salt, combined with the key ingredient, sourdough starter, to create an irresistible dessert. The process is straightforward, beginning with melting chocolate and butter together, then mixing in eggs, vanilla, sugar, and the sourdough starter, followed by the dry ingredients to form a luscious batter.

Careful preparation involves pouring the batter into a baking dish, optionally embedding chocolate pieces for an extra burst of flavor, and baking in a preheated oven. After baking, the brownies are dusted with cocoa powder to enhance their rich, chocolaty allure, ensuring each bite offers an exquisite blend of sweet and sourdough nuances.

This sourdough discard brownies recipe not only offers a sumptuous way to utilize sourdough discard but also introduces an inventive texture and flavor profile to the beloved chocolate treat. It's a perfect example of how traditional baking can be innovated with simple, yet impactful modifications, making it a must-try for anyone looking to elevate their dessert repertoire.

Practicing gratitude in the busy

Practicing gratitude in the busy

Hey and happy thanksgiving week!!
This week  officially brings  in the busy season with it and I wanted to give you a quick reminder.   I want to remind you during these times of busy-ness, parties, sugar cookies and making sure everyone else is taken care of, make sure to take care of you first. Here’s a simple practice: take a few minutes in the morning before you even get your feet on the floor, to be grateful. State to yourself 5 things you’re grateful for and try to feel the emotion with it.  Practice it. Make it a habit. Heck, even add a gratitude journal You’d be amazed at what you start to write about.  The change comes with the practice. Keep going, even if you skip a day or 3. Give yourself grace and start again.  You’re enough! Today the Black Friday week of deals has dropped!

Gratitude

Gratitude
Today as I  sit outside and enjoy the morning sounds I’m grateful.    I’m grateful for so manyyyy things it’s hard to even begin to share all of them.
That being said, I also am going thru one of the most difficult times in my life right now where it feels like everything is coming against me at once.  I mean, really, can I catch a break, please?
Even in all that turmoil, I still stay focused on the things I’m grateful for. Do you know why?  Because gratitude is the absolute highest frequency and vibration out there.  Gratitude brings things your way to be grateful for.   For example, yesterday after something I had to do, that I didn’t want to, but was grateful for the opportunity, I was craving a fruit bowl. So I went to the place, Nektar in Jax beach(amazing stuff) anyway, the lady in front of me had a coupon she couldn’t use and gave it to me.   My fruit bowl was FREE!  I didn’t earn it, I didn’t ask for it, I just was grateful for the ability to be there and receive it.
Gratitude opens our hearts up for receiving in life.    Receiving  everything you’ve ever hoped for is God’s desire for you.    So, even in your struggles, remember to be grateful for every little thing.  They become the big things over time.  Love to you!

The holidays are over the new year is here

This first week of the new year is flying by and it's already Friday! Yay!  Yesterday was lovely and I got to spend some time with a couple of different friends. Both new friends, one I met at an event on Meetup.com for local get togethers.  We hit it off and became fast friends.  Last night we got the chance finally to go out downtown St. Augustine and enjoy a fantastic meal and cocktail at Aviles Restaurant and Bar in the Hilton on the bay.  It was magnificent.   We thoroughly enjoyed every bite.  I unfortunately ate tooooo much.   So thankful I was prepared with digize oil to help with the discomfort. We then walked down to St George st and she bought this beautiful mermaid for her yard. #swoon. Soo,  I still had another friend to spend time with.   I met her at a local italian restaurant, Giovanni's around thanksgiving. She is moving down real soon and we have kept in touch.  We had a great evening with some of her friends but it was then time to go home. I was so tired.   My body is telling me I need to back off the junk food.  Holidays have been real. Vacation and heavier foods than I'm used to. Haaa.   It's ok!   I am back on the healthy eating habits I really enjoy. Not only because it tastes soo good, but how my body feels when I pay attention to what goes in my mouth.

Merry Christmas and Free P & C!

Greetings to you

Winter is officially here and it brings it's chilly weather with it.   It also brings tons of family and friends together as we celebrate the holidays and foods of the season.  This year I am thankful for so many things to mention here but my family, health and friends are at the beginning of it all.  Thankful for a home to live in, a car to drive, food in the fridge, clothes on my back and provision for it all.

This year has been amazing in so many ways and the Young Living aspect of life has been well too!  Young Living is such an amazing way to help others live better and feel better as well as offer an opportunity for people to work from wherever on their schedule. Total flexibility.  Work as little or as much as you want to build the business of your dreams and goals.  It's really worth it, for you and the people you'll effect along the way.  Contact me or your enroller and we can help you get educated on how it all works.

Every month YL puts out promotions and this one is no different, but it is pretty doggone amazing!   Even has a 400 pv level and they're giving us 15 ml Sacred Frankincense!  Holy Awesome!  But as if that's not awesome enough, they are giving us another exclusive way to get the coveted 15 ml bottle of PEACE AND CALMING!!!! Great and fabulous oil of oils!  Check out the promotion and get in on it before the end of the month. Time is ticking.     Also, if you want to get in on the free 10 ER points, when you place your order, do it thru the ER Monthly Order Tab!  Essential Rewards is a fantastic program where you can get not only extra bonuses for every dollar you spend, but you qualify for a 100 pv and 190 pv exclusive bonus products with your order.   This company really spoils us.   Shop the catalog here

This month I shared a video about how I eliminated one of the products I used to use all the time.  I ditched the chemical stuff from the salon and started making my own dry shampoo.  Check it out here: Dry Shampoo Video
This is only one of the tons of products I have switched out and eliminated the toxic stuff in our home.  Every little step towards a healthier life builds on another.   We have the tools and the education available to make the choices to live a better life.  Let's do it together.

I wanted to thank each one of you for making the decision to live better and make different choices for your family.   This month all orders placed that are over 100 pv are entered to win one of 5 random prizes from my vault of goodness!!   Thanks again for another amazing year of staying above the health and wellness line.

As always, feel free to contact me via email, or phone 352-427-2497, for any of your needs, questions or concerns.   Merry Christmas and a very happy new year!

God bless you,

Casey Forte
